Readers' comments - All the Days of My Life
Here's what some readers have commented (contact Jo-Anne by clicking here to give your feedback!):
"At the end of a very busy semester, I promised myself a real treat today – a quiet at-home afternoon with a good book. I’ve been saving your book (All the Days...) for such a time as today… and it was well worth the wait instead of reading it in hurried bits here and there. I just couldn’t put it down. I tore myself away just briefly to admire my neighbour’s newborn daughter then kept going. That it is based on a true story makes it even more poignant and heart-warming. Also, although I’m far from an expert on critiquing and although I enjoyed your first book very much (obviously – couldn’t wait for this one), I just want to say how much this book is even more better written (what dreadful grammar that is!) than your first. All that to say – CONGRATULATIONS." - Suzanne Rowe, Melbourne '
Just finished your book (All the Days), Jo, on the flight from London. I enjoyed it very much and it brought out some deep emotions at times.' - John Chapman, Sydney
'I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed reading your two novels about Helena. What really attracted me to Helena's story were the similarities to my mother's background. She is roughly the same age, with parents who immigrated to Sydney from Prague, and she is also an accomplished pianist who still regularly entertains residents of a retirement village where she resides. ... Thankyou for affording me the opportunity to read your novels. They have been a real blessing to me and I would like to express my gratitude to you the author. May the Lord bless you in your future literary endeavours.' Colin, NSW'
'I have just finished "All the days...". You have done a great job again. A sometimes sad but challenging story well told.' - Eric, Brisbane
'I finished reading your inspirational book, All the days of my life. I really enjoyed reading it and I was sorry to finish the book. Hope you continue to come up with new ones and I'll look forward to reading them in the future. Keep up the good work and I pray God will keep on inspiring you.' - Shirley Warren, Sydney
'I have finished reading "All the Days of My Life", and I couldn’t put it down Wednesday night till I had finished. It’s wonderful! The light and shadow woven into your characters demonstrates what a skilled crafts-person you are. ... I feel I really know these characters. Thank you!' - Marion Andrews, Tamworth

Reviews - All the Days of My Life
‘All the Days of My
Life’ takes up Heléna’s story just prior to her arrival in her new
country. After working in a Brisbane factory, she eventually settles in
Sydney, where friends help her try to resume her music career.
In the ensuing years, she experiences great joy but also deep trials, as she embraces all life holds for her in Australia.
Inspired by the real experiences of a Czech migrant, this story is both moving and challenging. As Heléna struggles to stand firm in the belief that God’s goodness and love will follow her all the days of her life, as Psalm 23 says, so the reader is encouraged to continue trusting God, whatever happens.
Music lovers in particular would enjoy this Sydney writer's novels.'
Excerpt from Baptist Union of NSW magazine 'Together In Ministry', Issue #30 Winter 2008.
